Three things that are making me happy today

A great Bob Dylan album cover.

The "parque de los enamorados" (lovers park) in Miraflores, Peru

My new home.

I finished this book today...finally. I'm always amazed at how sensitive I've become, perhaps it's the fact that no one really cares if you're being killed in public in this city. The last couple of pages made me tear up a bit on my 5 express train. The back and forth dialogue/writing between Leopold and Alma, the writer captures the true feeling of being one with everything and yet still completely alone. Monday is my busiest day of the week and yesterday was no exception. Teaching...more teaching....classes (that are free and I wanted to take..blah.)
I ended up listening to Joni Mitchell all the way to Greenpoint. Her voice sounds like gravy. Or groovy. I like it.

A Fresh Start

This is my stop every morning on my beloved 5 train. For the first time since the kids have come back, I finally wasn't woken up by some Polish drunk dude at 4:45am. Though I do have to say, last night with Cam left me a little loopy and I still don't think I've recovered. From food/wine tasting in Washington Square Park, to poetry reading, to go go boys, to Nowhere....last night was pretty entertaining. As usual when I'm in my friendly mood, I befriended a stranger on the subway, who lives a block away, and we chatted at the Black Rabbit about our histories.

History. A short word meaning everything, anything, whatever one wishes to divulge about themselves. A history changes, it evolves, it mirrors the company one is in. Enough for today.
